Annotation

Description
CBS domains are found attached to a number of different other protein domains, in some cases binding to AMP, ADP, ATP, and S-AdoMe, perhaps play a regulatory role making proteins sensitive to adenosyl carrying ligands. The structure consists of αβαββα secondary structure folded to a three-stranded antiparallel β-sheet with two α-helices on one side. CBS domains are always found in pairs in protein sequences and each pair of these domains tightly associate in a pseudo dimeric arrangement through their β-sheets forming a so-called CBS-pair or Bateman domain.
